International Truck of the Year
During the opening ceremony of Trailer 2011 on 24 November 2011 the winner of the 'International Truck of the Year' 2012 will be announced. The winning truck will be exhibited at Trailer 2011.
This annual award - judged by an international jury comprised of members of the international trade press - is granted to a new type of truck. With this, the jury rewards innovations in the field of design and technology that contribute to the efficiency of goods traffic on the road. Factors taken into account include operational safety, ergonomics, environment and fuel efficiency.
This incentive can look back on a long history and was set up for the very first time in 1977. As time progressed, the 'International Truck of the Year Award' developed into a highly respected concept, that leans on a few key factors, such as professional judging, a neutral character and international aura.
The 'International Truck of the Year' jury consists of 23 members. This jury is composed of road transport journalists working with the most important European transport magazines, with a readership of over 500,000 truck operators.
